The creation of the "Photographic Archive of Thessaloniki" serves two purposes: to promote the city through noteworthy, artistic photographs and to call attention to the work of photographers who are active in Thessaloniki.
The objective is not the mere depictive presentation of the city sights. The intention is to display images that incorporate the personal eye of the photographer, without the apparent presence of the city as a prerequisite.
The selection and supervision of the photographs on the site were by Tassos Schizas.
