Photoeidolo
is a Greek magazine specialized in photographic issues. The
editorial's intention was not to create another typical
edition of the kind but to fill in the gap between a book
and a magazine. Like in a book the topics included cover one
thematic entity per issue but the variety of writers that
contribute to the subject as well as the lay out and
frequency of publication makes it act also as a magazine.
Additionally
the fact that each issue focuses on one theme gives to the
edition the perennial nature of a book.
The
first edition was published in December 1996 and till now 28
editions with 28 different themes have been published. These
issues actually form a small photographic encyclopedia.
Photoeidolo
is the succession of "Gialino Mati" (Glass Eye), a
local fanzine magazine of
Thessaloniki
(20 issues during November 1993 - June 1996).
The
edition aims at contributing to the development and
promotion of artistic photography. In its pages someone can
find all he/she wants to know about the subject and how it
works.
The
theme of each issue is set by the editorial committee who
decides according to the readers preferences and the
materials collected.
Anyone
who is interested to present his/her work (texts or
portfolios) through the pages of Photoeidolo is welcome
provided that all requirements of publication (relevant
subject, appropriate quality) have been respected.
Photoeidolo
is available at kiosks, bookstores and photo shops. A
complete series of this edition is also available at the
Publication Offices. |
